Whole Grain Upma















Ingredients:
1 cup cracked wheat
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup shredded cabbage
1 cup green peas
4-5 cloves
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
About 3 cups of water
1 teaspoon oil
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
salt to taste
green coriander for garnishing

Method
  1. Dip cracked wheat in water for about half an hour (drain off extra water after half an hour).
  2. Heat the pan and put oil, cloves and cumin seeds. Heat till they crackle.
  3. Put cabbage and peas and cook for about five minutes.
  4. Then add 3 cups of water, turmeric powder, rolled oats and cracked wheat.
  5. Cook on slow flame for about 15 minutes with lid on the pan or till the water is dried.
  6. Garnish with green coriander. Enjoy!
